​Hello!👋 My name is Diamonick Dunn💎!

I am a Unity game designer/developer🎮 with 5+ years of experience in developing a variety of games/apps (2D, 3D, mobile, VR) in the Unity engine and designing clean user interfaces in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma. Outside of work, I have published 3 Unity Editor tools🛠️ to the Unity Asset Store and shipped 2 mobile apps📱 to the App Store as a solo Unity developer.

Professional Highlights

 

  • I was a Game Designer, Lead Artist, and Lead Programmer for an indie game called Necroball at King Crow Studios. I was brought onto the team to overhaul various aspects of Necroball (e.g. game loop, menu navigation, gameplay systems, etc.) and resolve many issues amongst the creative, product, and engineering teams during development to ensure the game is shipped out of Early Access on Steam. During Necroball's development, I excelled in multiple roles while pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Louisiana State University for 1.5 years.

  • My first VR project at King Crow Studios involved setting up an XR music recording studio using existing 3D assets and implementing UI elements for a local client. Despite having zero experience in VR development at the time, I was able to quickly learn the basics of VR/XR development in 1 month. My team was impressed by my UI/UX design skills, and the Lead Architect expressed interest in having me update the UI for future projects. My UI/UX design skills helped me become the go-to person on my team to help design responsive UI assets and provide hands-on guidance during the design process across 4 XR projects.


Solo Unity Developer Highlights
 

  • I published 3 Unity Editor tools to the Unity Asset Store: Duplicate Special Tool, Massive Unicode Symbol Table (MUST),
    and Link Labels.

  • I shipped 2 free mobile apps to the App Store: Capslide and TipTop - Tip Calculator.

Skills

Game Design

"Game design is my passion!" But seriously, my primary skill involves defining a game's core focus, creating & maintaining extensive documentation (GDD), and implementing core gameplay features to give players a fun gaming experience.

Unity

GameMaker Studio 2 was my first game engine, but Unity is currently my go-to game engine for developing 2D/3D games, implementing UI elements in VR/XR projects, and coding various features via Unity C#.

UI / UX

I love designing clean user interfaces for video games and VR/XR applications. I work with team members to create visually stunning mockups, icons, and layouts before implementation to ensure designs adhere to VR limitations and best practices.

2D Art

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, but I'm a creative artist at heart.

I'm proficient in creating reusable 2D assets in Photoshop (pixel) or Illustrator (vector), and I possess knowledge in implementing said assets directly in Unity.

Creativity

If there's one word my peers would describe me, it's creative. I enjoy playing video games not just to have fun, but to improve on existing game concepts or create new ideas for the games I work on. 

VersaTiles

A tile-matching, puzzle RPG where you attack enemies, defend yourself, and inflict status effects by selecting/forming 4-tile sequences.

Elemo

A 2D puzzle platformer where you control a cute character named “Elemo”, and use the elements of Fire, Water, and Electric to overcome obstacles.

Necroball

A 2-4 player party style arcade game where you control hordes of minions and lead them to victory in this fast-paced competitive sport amongst Necromancers!

A simple roguelike game where you must pay off your debt by rolling the dice. Will you be lucky enough to pay off your debt in time? Only one way to find out!

TipTop - Tip Calculator

TipTop - Tip Calculator is a free tip calculator app that allows you to calculate tips and split bills with friends and family at restaurants, bars, or parties.

Link Labels

The missing links to your editor window toolkit are here. Link Labels is a lightweight asset which allows developers to easily create and display custom links in editor windows.

Massive Unicode Symbol Table

The MUST-have asset for copying/pasting Unicode symbols. The Massive Unicode Symbol Table (MUST) is a tool which allows users to quickly access and copy/paste Unicode symbols straight from the Unity editor.

Duplicate Special Tool

A special tool for duplicating GameObjects! The Duplicate Special Tool is cooked to handle duplicating mass groups of GameObjects and providing appetizing features the standard Duplicate cannot.

Capslide

A minimalist, arcade mobile game where you drag sliders to bounce capsules and score points. Score as many points as you can before all 12 capsules are dispensed.
